Haley & Joe’s Wedding at the Hummingbird House in Austin, Texas

Haley and Joe are the kind of people you want to hang out and be friends with forever! They are so cool, fun, and easy to talk to. It is clear why they are a perfect match: while Haley loves that Joe is calm, level-headed, and insanely funny, Joe loves Haley’s kind, loving, and crazy personality. Since Haley works with animals, she was also happy to learn that her dog and horses loved him as well.
While Haley and Joe were friendly neighbors at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas, it was not until years after they graduated that they became a couple. Both found themselves in west Texas and decided to meet up. When Haley recommended they checkout a beautiful sunset (i.e. popular makeout) spot, Joe knew that this was not just a friendly hang out.
As their relationship grew in Alpine, Texas, Haley and Joe enjoyed taking walks near Haley’s apartment. The couple would stop and rest at a bench on a hill that faced the sunset. This spot is special because it is where Joe said he first fell in love with Haley.
Joe organized a heart-felt proposal as he sang her a song he wrote for her around a campfire with their friends and family waiting nearby. Haley nearly missed the proposal when she was distracted by her pup, Zoe, who had her face buried in the marshmallow bag! Luckily, Haley realized what was happening and turned around in time to see Joe pulling a ring box from his pocket.

Haley and Joe planned a Bohemian wedding at the Hummingbird House with desert colors of sage and dusty rose. It was a DIY affair as Haley’s mom created the florals, her sister in-law worked as the planner, and her bridesmaid provided the exquisite cakes. Since, after all, Haley and Joe were friends from college, so many of the guests were their mutual college friends, creating a warm and fun atmosphere. Congrats, Haley and Joe! Thank you for having us capture your day!!
