Emily and Johnathan met while working at Camp Lonestar as summer camp counselors. Johnathan, referred to as the “baby whisperer,” had perfected the art of day camp with the little kids. He is apparently an expert with small boys, ages three through six. He was pushed out of his comfort zone when he was told he would no longer be teaching the little kids, but would join Emily as head of the high school campers.
Emily was used to being in charge and had already really had this high school camp thing down pat. Instead of taking control of the high school camp program by herself (as she easily could have done), she was very open to Johnathan’s ideas. They treated each other as equal partners, and soon they realized the romantic potential between them.
The other counselors were quick to notice and point how Emily and Johnathan behaved like giggly, love-struck teenagers; however, their connection quickly developed into something deep and inexplicable. Johnathan brings humor into Emily’s life and is the sweetest person she has ever met. Johnathan says Emily understands him in a way he can’t comprehend. Surrounded by their family and many camp friends, Emily and Johnathan were wed at Texas Old Town where the sunshine and laughter were plentiful.
