Elizabeth & Kevin | Camp Lucy Wedding in Dripping Springs, Texas

As Kevin described the story of his proposal to me, he called it a “fiasco,” which instantly caused his fiancé, Elizabeth, to burst into laughter. He put so much heart into his plan for Elizabeth, but slight missteps along the way decorated their story with character. First of all, he made plans for a romantic proposal to take place in an apple orchard. He arranged to hide the engagement ring in an apple piñata hidden amongst the apples. Knowing that Elizabeth loved coupons, he told her that the orchard had placed an apple piñata with a coupon for 20% off their apple purchase if they could find it.

The only problem was, there was no engagement ring! Kevin asked his mom to assist him in his plans, and his mom felt the overwhelming pressure of being in charge of the engagement ring. After driving an hour out to the apple orchard, she realized she had forgotten the ring! Kevin had to stall their arrival to the orchard while he waited on the apple and ring to arrive. His mom raced home to retrieve it and hid the ring-filled piñata in the orchard.

Kevin needed to lead Elizabeth in the direction of the apple piñata that held the engagement ring but there were two more problems: first, they could not find the piñata! His mother left him instructions to get to the piñata such as “Go around the pile of apples” and “Go beyond the broken limbs.” They could not find it! Second, Elizabeth quickly grew tired of searching only among the red apples and soon got a hankering for green apples! She could not understand why Kevin only wanted reds!
Finally, Elizabeth found the piñata and opened it up. Kevin sweetly had hired a photographer to capture the magical moment. Elizabeth was completely in shock and, although the plan was more difficult to orchestrate than had been anticipated, the care and effort Kevin put into the proposal clearly reflects his love for Elizabeth.

Elizabeth and Kevin are engineers who met on a trip with friends in New Orleans. The two planned their destination wedding at Camp Lucy. It was a merging of cultures with Kevin’s family from Alabama and Elizabeth’s from Mexico. Bella by Sara was at it again with her beautiful arrangements and Liz at Toast Entertainment ensured the day ran perfectly.
