Amber & Patrick at the Winfield Inn in Kyle, Texas

Amber, a behavior analyst and program director at a behavioral clinic for children with autism and other developmental delays, and Patrick, employed in business and sales, met at the Austin Half Marathon in 2011. Patrick’s mom was in Amber’s training group, and she insisted that Amber meet her son at the race. Amber remembers that she had no makeup on, was sweaty, and was dancing “obnoxiously” to pep up herself and her friend before they began the race. She also recollects that Patrick was not his most perfect self in that moment either, dressed in a blue shirt with cut off sleeves and a hole in it with jogging shorts another shade of blue. They both cleaned up after the race and were much more impressed with one another! Patrick’s mom busily introduced him to several members of their training group, and Amber continued to stand out in his mind. Even though their encounter was brief and he met so many people, he easily remembered Amber’s name right away, thus sparking the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Amber and Patrick traveled to Colorado with Patrick’s family for vacation. However, Patrick was determined to steal Amber away so they could have time alone. He took her to Breckenridge where they had lunch and bought handmade candles and chocolates. They then packed a picnic and journeyed to a waterfall of the side of the mountain. Patrick laid out a blanket, poured some wine, and proposed as the sun set.

Amber loves that Patrick will do anything to make her smile, and Patrick says Amber is “the sweetest person he has ever met.” The two were wed at the Winfield Inn in Kyle, Texas. Amber opted to have a first look with her dad and then followed with a first look with Patrick. Her dad surprised with a horse and carriage for them to ride before Amber went down the aisle to see Patrick. Congrats to this sweet couple!!
