Kelsey and Josh go back—waaaay back—all the way to middle school years when they passed notes with one another in Spanish class. There was friendly flirting and a bit of an attempt at middle school romance, but what really blossomed between them was their friendship. They became an important part of one another’s lives, and when Josh wondered aloud who he should take to his sophomore Homecoming dance, his mom quickly suggested Kelsey. The move swiftly entered Kelsey and Josh into life as a couple together, and they continued their relationship beyond high school when they attended Sam Houston State University together. The couple endured the challenges of a long distance relationship when Kelsey transferred in pursuit of a different degree. The distance only proved to make them grow stronger.
Josh planned a proposal of Kelsey’s dreams! Kelsey has always dreamt of going to Disney World and was thrilled when Josh planned a trip for her there in December 2016! Josh paid for a package that included a photographer to take photos of them at Disney hot spots, a plan that worked perfectly when he made his proposal! He got down on one knee in front of the Disney castle, and now they have photos to remember the special moment. For their engagement session, Kelsey placed Minnie Mouse ears on their pup, and a ring on her nose, and the whole situation was completely hysterical!
Working with Kelsey and Josh and their families was extra special, because they all live very close by. Their story took place within the walls of the schools my own children will attend. It makes me wonder about my children and the relationships they will form at these schools and in this town. Kelsey’s sweet sister, Kassidy, works at the ice cream shop down the road from us, and I loved getting ice cream with my girls and chatting with Kassidy about the upcoming wedding! (By the way, Kassidy is probably one of my younger maids of honor, at just eighteen years old, but she rocked it! She was there to support Kelsey every moment!)
Kelsey and Josh married at a brand new venue in New Braunfels: the Chandelier of Gruene, and its adorable white chapel made for such a pretty backdrop. There were deer absolutely everywhere, which I’m sure this nature-loving couple appreciated! There were also chandeliers everywhere which added some sparkle and elegance to the rustic landscape. Coming down the aisle, Josh literally swept Kelsey off her feet! He was holding her one-handed while cheering!!!
Kelsey and Josh, thank you so much for having me capture your day! It was so fun watching you sweep each other of your feet, and I am so excited to see what the future holds for you! Congratulations!!!
