Kelli and Cody were originally going to get married at their chosen venue in August of 2020. However, with the uncertainties of the coronavirus, they made the choice that was best for them: they moved the wedding date up and changed the guest count from 300 people to around 50 of their closest friends and family. They held their ceremony at their great aunt and uncle’s home, in a backyard where they spent many a celebration. While it was not their original vision for their wedding, Kelli and Cody were overjoyed to get married and spent the day soaking up every joyful moment.
Kelli and Cody are very intentional with every decision they make in life together. They are high school sweethearts, and when Kelli’s mom and sister saw Cody carrying Kelli’s backpack and walking her to the car, they immediately asked Kelli about him. While Kelli skirted around the question with a “I don’t know,” I would imagine that Kelli was the kind of person who did know. Even as teenagers, I would imagine them entering into a relationship together in earnest, and while they spent their college years apart, Kelli and Cody would continue to be glued at each other’s sides throughout their journey in life, and support each other in the face of great loss.
Kelli and Cody, I am so excited to see what is in store for you! Kelli, best wishes as you continue your education at U.T. and Cody, best of luck in your work! It sounds like is going great! Congratulations!
