It was during her sister’s bridal portrait session that I first met Allison. She was so incredibly sweet, positive, and helpful during Amanda’s bridals and on the day the wedding. To know this girl is to absolutely love her. While photographing Amanda’s wedding, I saw Allison with her then-boyfriend, Anthony, a laid back, country kind-of-guy, a guy– it was easy to see–who was head-over-heels in love with Allison.
During the speeches at their wedding, Garrick, Anthony’s best man, mentioned that it was he who suggested that Anthony date outside of their high school friend group, and ain’t that the truth! I love the surprise the two must have felt when they realized they liked each other, outside of high school’s well established and distinct friend groups.
While these two didn’t know each other all that much, and had different circles of friends, it was Allison who thought of Anthony when she was an officer on her dance team and needed an “escort,” a guy paired with an officer and designated to help out the team. Anthony wanted to get to know Allison first, and after they met for dinner, the two were immediately smitten.
Allison and Anthony were married on a surprisingly sunny day, a burst of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy February. We were at Saddle Creek Weddings, a rustic and romantic venue in the heart of Dripping Springs. The wind started off that morning rather gusty, but calmed down around 4 p.m., right as we were heading out for Allison and Anthony’s First Look.
Anthony’s reaction to seeing Allison is hands down one of the most memorable I have ever seen. She was so energetic and excited, and Anthony was completely overcome with emotion. Their day was packed full of the sweetest moments. Photographing her sister’s wedding, I knew Allison’s mom and dad, which made it all the more special to see them showering affection on Allison. Amanda took charge and was on top of every last detail, and her parents were overcome with joy when they saw Allison as a bride. The love and support in their family is absolutely beautiful, and something I hope for when my two girls are grown. 🙂
Anthony and Allison enjoyed their party in the Saddle Creek reception hall, and lots of two steppin’ was had! Natural light photos are my favorite, but man, is it fun to aim my camera on that dance floor and wait for the perfect moment! I loved when Anthony dipped Allison back in laughter! Apparently, he took his role as dipper a little too seriously, and really got into the dance dip! I loved how he’d just dip her back and she’d burst into laughter!
Allison and Anthony, your day was absolutely beautiful. Your relationship has already been years in the making, and this was a start to something that will be even more beautiful—your marriage. I hope you always remember how fulfilled you feel in this relationship that absolutely brings out the best in you two. You emphasize each other’s best qualities and are ready to take on the world together. Congratulations!
