Samantha laughs as she recalls that she and Robert first met on MySpace. They were in the same town—Victoria,Texas—but attended different high schools. And they were YOUNG. So young, in fact, that they were not allowed to date. Samantha was not allowed to date until she was sixteen, so as soon as she had her sixteenth birthday, Robert took her out (after spending time with her parents, of course!). The couple enjoyed dinner dates at the Olive Garden and Chili’s in town, and also had fun at high school football games.
Samantha and Robert met each other early in life, and they realized they each had personal growth they needed to go through on their own. They parted ways when Robert headed off for college. However, they reconnected, and when Samantha headed to Texas State, Robert transferred over to be with her.
Their time in college at Texas State only deepened their connection, as they supported each other through the obstacles of college life. They currently share a life in Austin with their giant golden doodle and small malteepoo.
Samantha and Robert’s wedding was a dream to photograph! I adore Samantha’s style, and I knew she and Robert would hit it out of the park! From the trailing ribbons on her bouquet to the multi-colored bridesmaids’ dresses from Lulu’s, there were so many pretty details to capture! When Samantha went out to see Robert for their First Look, their excitement was palpable. They were beyond thrilled to get their day started! The sun peaked through the clouds a few times which was absolutely perfect: when I think of Samantha and Robert, I definitely think of their sunny dispositions and their warmth together!
Samantha and Robert’s friends and family were so welcoming and warm and incredibly delightful to work with! One of my favorite flower girl moments ever happened during the First Kiss! When she saw the couple kiss, she seemed absolutely appalled! It was hysterical! Another amazing moment was when Samantha’s Mimi and Poppy were taking photos. I directed Poppy to place his hand in his pants pocket. When Mimi went stand next to Poppy, she asked if she could put her hands in his pockets too! Ha!! I told her yes, but to save something for the dance floor!
Robert and Samantha, thank you so much for having me be a part of your day! It was truly an honor to capture it all! Best wishes to you both!!!
