I wanted to scoop up Kristina and Jordan, plop them down in a coffeeshop, and just chat with them ALL day! There were too many things I wanted to hear more about! First of all, they met on their first day as students at NYU and quickly established a friend group that included one another. Jordan was an English major, and as a former high school English teacher, I wanted to hear alllll about what it was like to study at NYU with probably some of the most interesting professors in the world! Also, Jordan is currently writing a novel, which I believe he described as an artsy rom-com, and I am dying to hear more about it and read it. Kristina studied law and happened to study abroad in the Czech Republic. My family is pretty much all Czech, and I wanted to chat all about Prague and its gorgeous streets, delicious beer, and serious-looking people.
We headed out to Commons Ford Park for their engagement session and embraced the overcast weather. Jordan is my first long-haired groom, and I enjoyed the novelty of doing hair adjustments on my groom! (Not sure if he enjoyed that much though. :/ Ha!) Kristina and Jordan were so very natural with each other, and it was easy to get them simply loving on each other. They pulled out the black jeans and sweaters and t-shirts for the end, and I felt like they transported me with them to the NYU campus, complete with coffee and convos about class. When I mentioned lifting, I got very hesitant reactions from the couple, but I think they rocked the piggy back! It turned out to be one of my favorite shots of the session! I love that by the end of the session, they were open and willing to go out there!
Kristina and Jordan, I am so very excited to photograph your day! Congrats!!
