It was all a bit little Sleepless in Seattle how Lisa and Carl became a couple. A prominent architect in the Austin area, Lisa’s work includes the Austin Children’s Museum and the newly renovated Seaholm Power Plant. For work, she frequently chatted with engineer, Carl, over the phone, never meeting in person. They got along and had a positive working relationship, but didn’t really think much beyond their projects. When one of Lisa and Carl’s beloved colleagues passed, the two attended the celebration of her life, and it was there that they saw each other face to face. A little friendly conversation turned into the desire to see one another again, and Lisa and Carl quickly became enamored with each other.
It was Lisa and Carl’s dream to marry under a grove of trees, so Addison Grove in the Texas Hill Country was an absolutely perfect choice. While the weather in December in Texas is incredibly unpredictable, it turned out to be perfect. The sun broke through the clouds and poured into the trees just as they began their wedding photos together.
When Lisa and Carl asked me to photograph their wedding, I was basically jumping for joy! I have known Lisa and her family since they are close family friend’s with my sister’s husband’s family! I know that sounds complicated, so I just call them my “family friends!” 🙂 Lisa’s sister, Shannon, is an incredibly talented graphic designer who owns Inviting Pear, so I often get to photograph her beautiful work at weddings! I absolutely LOVE what she created for her sister!! Lisa did the watercolor, and Shannon digitized it and designed the rest! I love the gorgeous blues!
Lisa and Carl, your wedding was a dream! Thank you so much for having me be a part of it!!!
