James decided to try out a Bible Study for young professionals, CRU, for fellowship and learning. He joined the group for an overnight retreat in Huntsville, and found himself in the car with a blonde cutie he recently had met through CRU. Madeline charmed off the socks of James as they shared popcorn and made a car dance video to pass the time. His interest was piqued, and James found Madeline racing through his mind throughout the retreat.
Madeline agreed to a date with James, and they headed to El Pueblito where they shared the best conversation over margaritas and Mexican food. The dinner was followed by an action film starring the Rock, and despite James’s somewhat mediocre movie choice, Madeline agreed to a second date with James.
It was at her family farm in Schulenburg that James planned his ultimate surprise proposal for Madeline. He spent the morning enjoying the cows and some basketball on the farm, and while Madeline freshened up for the planned “Lunch at a nearby vineyard,” James put his proposal plan in motion. Once she showered and dressed, Madeline pressed play on James’s laptop, and watch a video of him telling her about their relationship, and gave her instructions to head to the barn. On her journey to the barn, she found signs that listed special places and special events that occurred in their relationship together. Waiting for Madeline was a ring, a new Bible, and a rose (a nod to Madeline’s love of The Bachelor). After lots of shrieking, “Oh my gosh!!!” James put a ring on it, and they headed to a friend’s home where their friends and family awaited to help them celebrate.
James and Madeline are both incredibly thoughtful and so kind! They both have these beautiful blue sparkling eyes, and beaming, contagious smiles. There was a traffic accident that delayed them a bit to arrive at the venue, and it was very hot outside. (Memorial Day weekend in Texas is notorious for crazy weather, and I am just so grateful we had sunshine!) However, neither James nor Madeline let anything at all get to them—they were both so incredibly ecstatic to get married and to be surrounded by their friends and family. They both glowed from the minute they arrived until the moment they kissed their family members good-bye that night.
Madeline and James held their wedding celebration at Vintage Villas over-looking Lake Travis, and the views were STUNNING. I adore the soft blues Madeline and James chose in their wedding colors, and their florals—hydrangeas galore!!!—were gorgeous! Madeline also chose to incorporate some sweet items to honor her family—her shoes belonged to her mother and her hairpiece and wrap on her bouquet came from her mother’s wedding dress.
Madeline and James, your wedding was dreamy and romantic and thoughtful and heartfelt, a perfect reflection of you both as a couple. Thank you so very much for having me capture your beautiful day!
