It was a connection everyone around them saw. Except for them. Friends year after year, Katie even assisted Mike in online dating. “Nope, not her. Hmmmm, nope….” When Katie had an experience that needed talking out, she turned to Mike. Inviting him to come over to talk in person, she knew that this invitation meant something more than just friendship. It marked the start of their relationship as a couple. And the reaction of their friends and family? “What took so long?!” Katie and Mike, y’all are perfect.
For their engagement session, we headed to Mike and Katie’s wedding venue, Star Hill Ranch. It is an old (and current!) movie set, so the photo opportunities are endless! It was a matter of matching their outfits to the endless array of options! And, we found my favorite: a gorgeous field of spring flowers! They wanted to embrace the rustic elements of the ranch, hence the trucks, barn, and picture of a cow! I had them walk in front of the cow, and they burst into laughter when I told them, “Stretch those arms out! Stretch ‘em out in front of the cow!” (Nope, not weird at all. :P)
When we began their session, Katie and Mike said what my couples always say: “Tell us what to do!” Ha! Yes, I absolutely will tell them what to do. But by the end of the session, they were rocking it, and it was not long before their playfully loving side came out. Mike and Katie, you two are amazing people. I am so happy you took a chance on each other, and I can’t wait to see you get married.
