When you are around Christina and Dustin, you just feel peace. The two are so relaxed together, and so full of love for one other. Considering they went to the same high school and attended the same parties, it is amazing it took so long for them to finally meet one another. After eight years of living in different cities, Dustin returned to La Grange to set up his life there. Christina and her mom own the coffee shop, Latte, in Columbus and La Grange, so Dustin’s move back to La Grange was just bringing him one step closer to connecting with Christina. The timing was just perfect when Dustin’s brother Cody, a chiropractor in Columbus, invited his coworker Lexi, who just happened to be Christina’s roommate, to a barbecue. Christina and Lexi both went to the barbecue where Dustin and Christina finally met. Shortly after, Dustin invited Christina on their first date.
Christina had recently become devoted in her faith to God, and she hoped that Dustin would share her commitment. They spent two hours on their first date discussing their faith, and after that, all of the pieces fell into place. It was Christina’s faith and servant’s heart that so moved Dustin. When Dustin described what he loves about Christina, he mentioned her “charity to others.” She is constantly attuned to the needs of friends and family, and running her own business, I imagine she knows how to get things done! Dustin and Christina’s pastor was quick to point out that Dustin’s use of the word “charity” reveals Dustin’s old soul. That struck me as such an accurate description of his peaceful and calm spirit. I also loved hearing about his love for reading and how their house will be full of books.
This year I shot weddings for two brides who worked as counselors at Camp Lone Star. My second shooter, Kelly, attended Camp Lone Star. When Christina told me she was getting married at Camp Lone Star, I was not even that surprised! Something seemed to be calling me there! I actually worked for many summers at a Lutheran church camp myself, so I must be giving off church camp-going, nature-loving vibes! Dustin works at the camp, and it was a beautiful location, in the most perfect weather, to hold a heartfelt ceremony.
Christina and Dustin, I am ecstatic for you. Two beautiful, gentle souls have found one another, and I can only imagine what the future will hold for you two together. Thank you so very much for having me be a part of your happy day.
