I think Lindsey and Grant are possibly the ONLY Texans who can say that it was a snow storm that brought them together…while living in Texas! Heavy ice and snow shut down the Texas Christian University campus, leaving students stranded in their homes, and, obviously, pretty bored. Lindsey was honestly pretty content to relax at home, but her roommate persuaded her to head to a fraternity party to hang out with friends. It was at the fraternity house that Grant noticed the pretty and bubbly brunette, and struck up conversation with her. Their friends all decided to head to a different location, so it was natural that Lindsey would head with the group too. However, Grant believes Lindsey’s motivation for following the party was HIM. Either way, perhaps Lindsey sticking around gave Grant confidence to chat more with her and eventually ask her on their first date at the Austin Country Club, which is actually the very place they chose to get married!
When Grant proposed to Lindsey, he concocted an elaborate scheme involving a trail at the Zilker Botanical Garden and photographers to capture the proposal. However, his nerves got the best of him and he ran TWO red lights on the drive to the garden and lost his way on the trail while walking with Lindsey. He redeemed himself with an incredibly sweet proposal, and the photographers found the couple to take photos of their joy. Grant also planned a surprise party with their closest friends and family members to celebrate their engagement.
To know Lindsey and Grant is to love them. Lindsey, a speech pathologist, has the perfect gentle demeanor for the children she will assist, and Grant is sharp as a tack and will go far with his pursuits in international communications. It was such a blast chatting with them. One of my goals in the engagement session is to get to know my couple as much as possible, so I tend to ask them tons of questions! Lindsey and Grant threw the questions right back at me, and I am sure their friends and family appreciate how insightful they are and how they listen so calmly and attentively.
For their engagement session, we headed to my favorite park, and I think we actually got a lot of fall feels! I love Lindsey’s red dress (from Madewell) and Grant’s jacket. The two brought a pumpkin (whose backside showed it clearly had been on a few adventures), and they marked it with their wedding date. Lindsey and Grant, thank you so much for having me capture your engagement session! I can’t wait for your May wedding!!
