A trip to Maui allowed Johnny with ample opportunities to propose to Melissa, but he waited until the very last day of their vacation just to keep her on her toes. They had been together for a long time and had discussed marriage, so Melissa was more than a little suspicious a proposal might take place on the trip. They shared romantic dinners and beautiful walks on the beach to see the sunrise, but Johnny still held out! He really wanted to catch her off guard and make it a surprise! On the final day of their trip, Melissa wondered if Johnny was going to ask the question at all. They hiked through the wilderness and down to a private beach, and it was there that Johnny finally asked her to be his wife.
Melissa, who is from California, met Johnny, who is from Utah, through Johnny’s roommate, and rather quickly proceeded to snag a date with Melissa. They lived in Utah for a while before making the move to Austin.
They were so sweet and fun to work with! The couple wanted to incorporate Austin in their images, and I headed to the building at Auditorium Shores to get the skyline. However, there were some sort of dancers suspended from the building doing flips all around the columns in midair! They must have been practicing for an upcoming event. I found another great place for the skyline, but it involved standing up on these tall benches. Immediately Melissa and Johnny went for it! Even through mud and pollen at the Greenbelt, these two were troopers. They were so easy going and caring with one another! Thank you so much for having me capture your engagement session!
